We're Told To Eat The Rainbow... But Why?

Rainbows aren’t just for leprechauns on the hunt for gold - they’re for human beings who want to FEEL golden!

Nutrition and dietary guidelines often encourage the consumption of a wide variety of plant-based foods, which can easily translate to recommendations of “EAT THE RAINBOW!”

This is with good reason and it’s a message that we highly support, as fruits and vegetables of different colours will provide a unique array of micronutrients, phytonutrients, fibre types and antioxidants, all of which contribute to a prime health status.

It’s important to clarify that no colour is superior to another, hence kale isn’t “more nutritious” than carrots just because it’s green, and blueberries aren’t “healthier” than bananas. It’s an even playing field, and the way to WIN at long-term health is to fill your dietary pattern with a diversity of different plants types of various colours.

We hope you enjoy this illustration which highlights the nutrients that are unique to different shades of plants!
